Harry Price in 1990 described the area near the chapel at Bream's Eaves during his boyhood:

"The Green (now Hillside Estate) was about 3 to 4 acres in size and much loved by us kids to play football, cricket, fly kites etc."
"The Green I believe got its name from the Eaves Chapel (then the Primitive Methodist) who were blessed with a regular congregation of upwards of 100, maybe more. A very big voiced choir who could be heard at practice giving full vent to their singing. We used to call them the Ranter Roarers".
